It is not too difficult to imagine a mind and body connection since most people have experienced falling sick during a period of stress. The effect is mutual – mind to body, body to mind – but I find that many do not fully appreciate nor apply a body-to-mind approach.
When you maintain and improve your body condition by practicing asanas, your head is clearer and your mind stays in a more positive space.
You – yourself – are the hero/heroine of your life. In yoga philosophy, it is said that “yourself” is the “Atoman”, meaning inner self or soul. That is, something firm and dazzling very deep in you, and not that perishable body nor swinging emotion of yours. I have felt such things while my mind is being calm and quiet after practicing asanas.
May all we keep a good grip on ourselves and walk our lives with sure-footedness.
